Direct X 10

One of the features that should be luring gamers and designers to switching to Windows Vista is Direct X 10. Almost all of the games scheduled for release in 2008 are taking advantage of the more powerful Direct X 10. I doubt that they’ll leave behind support for DX9 since most users wont be upgrading to Vista in the near future, but a lot of designers are pushing the new version sinceit allows them to above and beyond what is seen today. I even had a class that dedicated 2 months explaining the switch and how practical uses will make it nessacary in the future.
Here’s a short video showing what Crytek is doing with DX10
