Here’s something for you to look at:
I’m pretty happy with the way this one turned out. Inked almost exclusively with a Sakura Brush Pen (which is a great sketching pen) and I also used the white out pen to add some detail in the dark areas. After scanning it I imported the lines into Photoshop and went to town with a thick watercolor brush. I tried to keep my color palette somewhat limited and not too saturated. Took about 30 mins to color in PS which is pretty quick by my standards.
I posted the B&W as well as the color version so you can see the difference that color can make in an image like this.
