I’ve come to a conclusion: if I had to pick a superpower it would be the ability to travel and bend space and time. That way I would have time to do whatever I wanted at my own pace and spend the time and dedication I’d like working on certain things. Mainly my art.
I put off drawing a comic for a month intentionally. I just never mentioned my intentions. Good news however is that the hiatus might be over. I say might because I’m not entirely sure I’m ready to go back myself. Drawing the comic takes up a good amount of time and even though I enjoy spending time on it, I know that there are other projects that would benefit me more if I focus on them. The reason I stopped to begin with was because I felt like I was starting to half-ass the comic and that’s something I didn’t want to do so I just stopped altogether and let it sit in the back of my mind for a while.
So what I’m thinking now is that I might just go back to the early roots of the comic and start drawing it with pen and ink again. Coloring is fun and I think it adds a lot to the illustrations, but I’d rather focus on getting good line art down rather than trying to cover up my errors in Photoshop. I’m also thinking about experimenting with a few different styles and formats to keep things interesting. Three side by side panels can get pretty boring and bland sometimes.
In any case, here’s the first comic in a while (and hopefully the start of many more). Updates will be a little spuratic till I settle on what I finally want to do so I’ll try to get one comic every week on Tuesday and maybe one at the end of the week.
No promises.
