DSP 01/11 – 01/18
Jan 21st, 2008 by Chris
It’s been one of those weeks. I spend too much time sitting in front of my computer and have absolutely no time to log into my website and post sketches. I guess I have time at home, but usually that time is spent either drawing or doing something other than blogging. Here’s the sketches from this past week. I’m going to try to get caught up with these, but as always I make no promises because I might not be able to keep up.

Thoughts on this project I set for myself so far:
It’s still early in the year, but after 18 sketches and doodles I can say that I’m having a lot of fun drawing these. I’ve slowly started to be progressively more and more careless when starting some of these. You can probably tell by looking at some of the sketches so far. I start most of them by blocking out the big shapes with a pencil and then pick up the brush pen and the biggest magic marker I could find to add all of the shadows. I’ve also started to mess around with using the pigment from a colored pencil and white out to paint some of the areas with my finger.
It’s extremely messy and equally fun to work with. Takes me back to my finger painting days in Preschool.
Also: I set-up a flickr set where I will be uploading all of the daily sketches to keep them all collected. It may seem unnecessary now, but a few months down the line when the number hits triple digits it will come in handy. You can view the photo set by clicking here.
