Chris’ Pics – February 2008

Almost a month since the last update. ALMOST. I have not forgotten, but I have neglected ye olde blog; and to distract you from my lack of dedication here are some pictures:

No cooler? No problem.

Most of the photos, as you can probably tell, were taken during a trip to Busch Gardens and Seaworld which was great fun. I was snapping photos left and right throughout. I also went for an unconventional style of photography where I overexpose the photos and oversaturate some of the colors. It gives the photos a very high contrast and almost “fake” feel to them which can get old pretty fast, but I think they look pretty cool. I also shot using the highest ISO available just to avoid using flash and capturing the natural light and colors of the scene. Since most of the fish tanks were indoors the result is a noisy photo. Usually I’d never allow myself to keep photos with this much noise, but the trade off for natural colors was worth it in my opinion.
I paid a visit to Metro Zoo this past Sunday (which is ranked one of the top 10 zoos in the world) and took a slew of photos there as well so those may get posted sometime int he near future.
I also have a pile of sketches sitting on the corner of my drawing table that stare at me every time I walk into my room. I’m going to make it a point to get them all scanned in and uploaded this week. We’ll see how that goes.
